2017 Jefferson School District Summer School & Extended School Year (ESY)
Jefferson School District offers Summer School and ESY Programs. Summer school will review Math and English Language Arts and prepare students for the upcoming school year. Registration packets will be mailed home during Spring Break to students who were recommended by their teacher or who have ESY in their IEP. Space is limited and registration packets are due May 1, 2017. Students will be assigned to classrooms on a first come first served basis. If your student was recommended for Summer School or ESY, please submit your registration packet as soon as possible to your child's school office or the Jefferson School District Office.Each summer school day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m. It is crucial that students attend daily and arrive on time. Please schedule personal appointments outside of the school day, as to not interfere with the learning of your child or the learning of others. Students can be dropped off in front of Traina School anytime between 7:45 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and head to the playground. Please do not have your child arrive before 7:45 a.m. since supervision is not available. Student safety is our priority. All visitors must come to the main office, sign in and obtain a visitor’s pass. Teachers will not permit anyone into the classrooms without the appropriate pass.
During Summer School, Jefferson School District will serve breakfast during the morning break. The cost will be $1.50 and parents will be billed for meals purchased at the end of the summer session. If your child/children received Free and Reduced meals during the 2015-16 school year, they can receive a free breakfast during Summer School.
If you submitted your application for summer school transportation, there will be a flat $15.00 fee (per student) for summer school bus service. Please remit your payment to: the Student Services Office by mail at 1219 Whispering Wind Dr. Tracy, CA 95377 or in person, M-F 8am – 3:30pm. If mailing in your payment, please make the check payable to JSD and indicate your child’s name on the check. You will be receiving additional information regarding the designated bus stops and pick up/drop off times. Class lists will be posted at Traina School on June 2nd.
All attending students are bound by the provisions in the Jefferson School District Parent and Student Handbook that each student received at the beginning of his/her school year. Mutual respect and attentive listening are necessary skills to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. If you are unable to locate your handbook, please stop by the Hawkins School office and review the foyer copy.
