Good evening CHES Families,
I’m excited to introduce you to the inaugural Principal of Corral Hollow Elementary School. We have been through an extensive job search for the past 18 months and three interview pools. Earlier this month, a team of CHES teachers and classified staff interviewed four very qualified candidates. Two finalists were selected to be interviewed by the Board of Education. Last week in closed session, Heather Copeland was selected as the inaugural Principal of Corral Hollow Elementary School. She currently serves as the Tom Hawkins TK Campus administrator and the Vice Principal of Corral Hollow Elementary School. Throughout the search process, Heather continually stood out as a natural leader who was passionate about working side by side with a dedicated staff to make Corral Hollow Elementary School one of the top schools in San Joaquin County.
One of Mrs. Copeland's references shared about her:
“Mrs. Copeland excels at teaching and leading others. She motivates teachers while serving the unique needs of her learning community. She is a natural leader and problem solver, easily identifying and proposing solutions so that parents, students and staff remain engaged in the school learning community. Mrs. Copeland is an expert at leading professional learning communities, data meetings and integrating the latest technology so that teachers and students receive the best instruction and guidance in an engaged manner.”
Mrs. Copeland knows she has a lot to get up to speed on in the next few months, but she is excited about the opportunity to work with her staff and peers to make Corral Hollow Elementary School an exceptional school when its doors open in August. The Board of Education and I are excited to see what the Colt Community is able to achieve.
Sincerely,
James W. Bridges
Superintendent
